LEARN MOREI discovered esports during the freshman year when I started playing League of Legends and watching tournaments. I made a lot of new friends from all across the world through playing video games and before I realized it, esports became part of my identity. But it wasn't until my first research paper that I realized that how much research potential esports and esports analytics have. And that first research paper was the start of everything that follows, from the presentations on AI and ML applications in esports analytics, to essays on how a meme took over the gaming community.
To some people, League is just a game. To me, it was what kept me interested and motivated classes after classes, assignments after assignments and is what first comes to my mind when someone asks "What do you see yourself doing in the next 5 to 10 years?".
